Isaiah 40:31 — They shall mount up with wings as eagles

Every child deserves to rise.

Nesharim Foundation supports disadvantaged children in Singapore — children with special needs, children with disabilities, and children growing up without enough. We fund the care and the tools that help them climb.

About Us

A foundation named for the bird that climbs on the storm.

Nesharim is the Hebrew word for eagles. In scripture the eagle carries its young on its wings, renews its strength, and rises above the storm rather than fleeing it. That is the picture we hold for every child we serve.

Nesharim was founded by a mother. Raising a daughter with special needs taught us what these families already know: progress is measured in small, hard-won steps, and the right support at the right moment changes what a child's whole life can become.

We are a private giving vehicle guided by Christian values. We give quietly, we give where the need is real, and we give to bring hope and joy to children who have known too little of both.

Giving well is a discipline, and we are still learning it. Our founder is a member of AVPN, Asia's network of social investors, where funders learn from each other's mistakes as readily as their successes.

Our Mission & Values

To uplift disadvantaged children, and to bring them hope and joy.

We partner with organisations already doing faithful work on the ground, and we fund the specific things that lift a child: therapy, sight, learning, dignity, play.

Compassion

We begin with the child in front of us. Every gift is made because a real child needs something real.

Faith

We are guided by Christian values and by the conviction that each child is made in God's image and is worth every effort.

Hope

We fund what changes a trajectory, not only what eases a day — and we stay long enough to see children rise.

What We Do

We give through trusted partners, close to the ground.

Nesharim gives through the Community Foundation of Singapore, which evaluates the organisations we support and administers every grant.

Some of what we fund reaches a child directly. Some of it reaches the parent who carries her, or the agency that opens a door for her. Both count. Our support to date includes:

Singapore Christian Home

Therapy — Children & Young Persons Ward

We fund therapy for the medically fragile residents of the Children & Young Persons Ward: children who require constant care, and for whom therapy means comfort, mobility, and moments of joy that would not otherwise come.

Catch Them Young

KidsExcel · See Better Learn Better

Through KidsExcel, we support underprivileged children in building confidence, character, and academic footing. Through See Better Learn Better, we help children receive the eye care and spectacles they need — because a child who cannot see the board cannot learn from it.

CaringSG

Support for caregivers of children with special needs

CaringSG was founded by caregivers, for caregivers. It connects parents of children with special needs to one another, to trained peer support, and to the health and social services they are so often left to navigate alone.

We support this work because a child with special needs is carried by someone, and that person tires. Strengthening a parent is a direct investment in the child.

SG Enable

Disability support and inclusion

SG Enable is Singapore's focal agency for disability, and the first place many families turn after a diagnosis. It opens the door to schemes, services, and early intervention, and works to make ordinary places reachable for children who have been shut out of them.

Nesharim does not run its own programmes. We fund those who do it well, and we choose them carefully. How we are structured & how we decide →

If your work serves these children, we would like to hear from you.
